![]() BADROC is a "club" consisting of Bay Area roadster owners who are interested in meeting and getting together with other fellow owners. It is an informal organization; there are no fees, rules, or politics to keep us from our main objective: having fun! We try to exploit our luck of being located in the most weather-blessed part of the U.S. by getting together for cruises as often as possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wanted to plant a flag in that date (Saturday March 31, 2012) and see who might be interested in an afternoon ride up Mt. Diablo, with a stop at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville (if you have never been there, it is a MUST see). Here's my proposed afternoon: 2:00 pm: Meet at my garage in San Ramon...talk cars, etc. 2:30 pm: leave to go to Blackhawk Museum (short drive) 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm: tour the cool cars at at the Blackhawk Museum 3:45 pm - 4:30 pm: take South Gate Rd up Mt. Diablo via Blackhawk Rd and Mt Diablo Scenic Blvd 4:30 pm: Top of the Mountain, photos, views, etc. 5:00 pm: Head back down the mountain before sunset, which is 5:30 pm Then head on home... and if anyone wants to stay for an early dinner, we could end up at Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash in downtown Danville. A horde of roadsters would be a welcome sight there. The alternate route down off the mountain will take you down North Gate Rd into Walnut Creek, if home is that direction. If you have never been up Mt. Diablo, it's worth the trip. It has amazing views of all Northern California and the road is curvy and mountainous, a good cruiser but not a high speed run. Weather is always a question in late March, so we could keep it open with a "weather permitting" caveat?
